NC 215 North from Rosman to Blue Ridge Parkway was simply awesome! I have been through a lot of twisty roads including tail of the dragon, devils whip, snake and so on. But this one is a combination of all those and much more. It has some amazing curves and turns and twists for all the crotch rockets. I think its takes you to a 5000 ft elevation within a few minutes. The scenery on the last stretch towards BRP is breathtaking and reminded me of my ride past Yosemite.
Once you hit BRP, the road further ahead has a lot of gravel and I would recommend staying away from it. Whats even better is the road to Balsam Lake leading to Balsam Lake Lodge : https://www.recreation.gov/camping/campgrounds/233975. The road is not as wide as NC 215 but extremely pretty and a riders paradise.
Leads you into Cashiers where there are some beautiful small local shops and markets. The road further down from Cashiers takes you to Highlands which is a small town, again full of local shops and places to stay. Loved Cashiers and Highlands both.
All in all, I would say, if you like twists and turns, if you like mountains, if you like beautiful views, this road is a must! I easily rate it as one of my best roads traveled in NC!
